A domestic wafer manufacturer established its authority and got its brand noticed by a key niche with content marketing.

We've been working with Digital Resource for the last five years. Excellent company that's really helped our customer acquisition! We're very lucky to have found them and to have stayed with them for as long as we have.

The Problem

Wafer World is a domestic wafer manufacturer that sells its products to semiconductor companies. It needs to establish its authority and get its brand noticed by a very small and savvy group of people.

A Deeper Dive

A closer look at the challenges

Challenge 1

Wafer World’s industry is too niche for traditional ads, but it still needs to establish thought leadership and position itself in front of semiconductor decision-makers.

Challenge 2

Wafer World’s customer base is intelligent and discerning. In some cases, choosing the right wafer manufacturer can be a matter of national security, so the client needs to establish their expertise, authority, and trustworthiness.

Challenge 3

The semiconductor industry often focuses on making transistors smaller, but this is becoming increasingly difficult. They need to present the differing wafer materials they offer as an alternative.

The Solution

We targeted a variety of different niche keywords with high-quality, detailed blogs. These blogs allowed the client to rank for more than 1,500 keywords. Engaged readers couldthen buy products on the site, or reach out via the contact page or live chat form to become leads.

Implementation 1

Step 1

We analyzed the client’s website, as well as their competitors. We then spoke with them and came up with a list of optimal keywords. This allowed us to create a keyword map and understand which blogs should rank for which keywords.

Step 2

Once we decided on a primary keyword to rank for, we brainstormed topics and wrote a long-form article. This article was substantive and targeted at answering the question, “How small can transistors get?” At the same time, it was optimized for SEO with a combination of internal links, external links, header tags, strategic keyword placement, and the use of keyword variations.

Step 3

We edited the blog, keeping in mind both readability and SEO. We then posted it to the client’s website with engaging imagery, including a custom video, and great "scannability" for an enhanced user experience.

Step 4

Over the course of a year, the blog attracted links and rose in the rankings. Along with appearing in Google for several relevant search terms, it also raised the overall authority of the site, allowing it to rank for more terms. Leads were captured by our live chat team, as well as by a CTA at the end of the blog.
